Summary:
The Medical Records Release of Information (ROI) Clerk is directly responsible to the Director of Medical Records and is mainly responsible for gathering the requested information from the Medical Records, paper and electronic.
The ROI clerk reviews the release forms that are obtained and gathers only the requested information within specified time frames and in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
Additionally, the nature of work in the Medical Record Department is such that cross training is necessary to enable staff to perform some tasks at grade levels other than their own in the event of position vacancies, vacation, sick leave, or backlogs.
Position Hours:
8-4:
30 Monday - Friday Knowledge/Skills Job Requirements:
Required to have an excellent understanding of HIPAA regulations and Release of Information standards.
Must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail.
Must be able to multi-task effectively, work in a team environment.
Must have Customer Service background.
Computer skills necessary, knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Medical Office background preferred.
Education:
High school Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred education in the Medical Office Administration, Health Information Technology, or equivalent degree/ Medical office work history.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds occasionally.
Stand/sit for long periods of time.
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl when necessary.
This is a full time position that is benefit eligible.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
